POKEMON thane, illusion, male night daze ● flamethrower sucker punch ● focus blast Given to Argent [then Micah] upon the passing of his tenth birthday as an egg and subsequently hatched into a zorua, Thane, named in a surprisingly suitable fit of fancy, has been the constant in Argent's life. He is more of a family than his human blood brothers ever were. Thane possesses a fierce loyalty to his master, and often accompanies him outside of his pokeball under the illusion of a silent human guise . He reflects much of Argent's own personality, though where Argent is cool venom, Thane is fiery passion. sol, flash fire, female flamethrower ● dark pulse fire blast ● extrasensory Sol is a more recent addition to Argent's little ragtag clan, having developed a fondness for him born out of gratitude for rushing her to a pokemon center when she was terribly wounded by his brother for an infraction. Having been abandoned by his brother in favor of a shiny ninetales, she sought him out after his escape. Quiet and serene, Sol is the picture of grace. Like Thane, she harbors an intense loyalty to Argent and would easily lay her life down for him, if the opportunity ever arose. | HISTORY The youngest son of the powerful Murdoc family of politicians, Micah led an illustrious childhood. While Nevitan children starved and Fripperi's sons and daughters were sacrificed on an altar, Micah wanted for nothing, receiving the finest education and dining on dishes of decadently beautiful silver. The world was his oyster. Despite the luxuries which were afforded to him, Micah was no naive young master, wide-eyed and innocent-- the Murdocs prided themselves on having their fingers in every pot, and Micah learned the way his brothers Sebastian and Alastair did-- watching his father deftly outmaneuver his rivals with gilded smiles and honeyed words. Referred to fearfully as the snakes and their spawn, the Murdoc family was not one to trifle with. Isolation ruled his adolesence, only broken with the gift-- the only gift-- he received from his distant father, who had better things to do than cultivate his youngest son. A zorua egg, carefully bred from strong lines and given on a whim. He treated it reverentially, spending his waking hours cradling it in his small arms. When it hatched, Micah, fascinated with such a foreign concept as true fealty, projected his desires into a name: Thane. The two were inseparable-- where Sebastian and Alastair merely handed off their charges (a vulpix and a meowth) to a talented servant from Nevita, Micah trained Thane himself, warding off the subtle attempts by the servant, called Jack Wolfe to take over the development of the zorua. Through this, they eventually bonded, forming a relationship that is to this day the closest to family Argent has ever had. As Micah grew older, his parents began to turn their children against each other, seeking to test their mettle. What had once been an amicable but impersonal relationship between Micah and his elder brother Sebastian turned into bitter rivalry as both sought the reward which their brother Alastair had sworn off. When Sebastian's ninetales refused to harm Micah, it was beaten before subsequently being abandoned. Micah rushed it to a pokemon center, feeling empathy for the poor creature. It was there that Alastair, who had followed, proposed an alliance of sorts, against a man as a cruel as Sebastian. Together they plotted, and within the next few weeks Sebastian succumbed to a mysterious "fever"-- poison. A few months later, Micah was woken in the middle of the night of his 26th birthday, and informed that Thane had been attacked and that he was in critical condition. Rushing out into the night, it was too late that Micah realized the truth. Ambushed, he was taken by police, who had evidence of his "association" with Akiro rebels. Though his parents made an attempt to interfere, they quickly renounced their son once the news had reached the general population. He was tortured in secret for weeks in the hopes that he would spill information, the horrific imprints of which remain on his body. Into the fifth week, when they decided he would simply not give up any information (not that he had any in the first place), they set a date for his execution. It was the eve before when an illusion of a charizard set fire to the prison in which Micah was being held, wreaking havoc. It was in this chaos that loyal Thane freed Micah, weak and hair stark white from the duress his body had endured. Before they could realize the trick that had been played on them, the two escaped into the night, fleeing to Akiro. Now, as Argent Hall, he prowls the wasteland, watching, and waiting. |
