POKEMON gelert, intimidate, male flare blitz ● crunch fire fang ● take down Gelert has been Isolde's companion and vigilant guard since her birth, trained and raised to protect her from her enemies. He and her wealth are Celine's legacy. From the time she was a sleeping infant to this very day, he has scarcely left her side. Possessing the undying loyalty and devotion hallmark of his breed, he serves his mistress with distinction. While he is a relatively friendly creature, make no mistake; if anyone attempted to harm Isolde, they'd shortly find themselves one arm lighter. | HISTORY Her father's favorite bastard; that's the only claim Isolde has ever had to the man. Born of a torrid affair between wealthy scion Xander Vaughn and (the subsequently ruined) socialite Celine Bellamy. They had each been engaged to another, but when the pregnancy was revealed it was only Celine who took the fall, Xander denying fatherhood of the child and threatening the girl into silence. After Isolde was born and Xander showed no signs of ever returning to her side, Celine began pining and drinking herself into an early grave, leaving a daughter barely out of her diapers her faithful guard dog Gelert and the sizable fortune which she had been able to keep when she was disowned by her parents. It was upon the news of Celine's death that Xander felt guilt creep into the edges of his conscience, and against the wishes of his wife and family, brought her into his household under a false pretense of mere sympathy for an orphan. Isolde was never made to feel welcome among the Vaughns, particularly her father's wife Genevieve Vaughn, who suspected the truth. Oftentimes she spent her days in seclusion, with a single maid, scarcely older than Isolde herself, to care for her. To be heard and seen outside of the northern wing of the estate, to be so daring as to try to take her lessons with the Vaughn children instead of alone--she learned early on the consequences of such arrogance. Her father certainly liked the quiet, shy girl well enough; perhaps more than his own loud, rambunctious children. On the rare occasions on which he found time for his poor bastard, they would sit in her rooms, and speak at length. Even rarer still, he'd reminisce, wondering what might have been. Once she grew old enough, Genevieve made her a proposition. Peace, for a price. Never would Isolde make a claim for what rightfully belonged to her daughters and son. She'd leave on the pretense of taking a pokemon journey to "find" herself--and when she returned, she found herself in possession of the old Bellamy estate, which had fallen into government hands after the deaths of her grandparents. She currently passes her days there, determined to live out her life in peace. |
