POKEMON  toro, blaze, female sky uppercut ▫ slash fire spin ▫ mirror move  rono, rock head, male iron head ▫ take down roar ▫ earthquake  pilo, chlorophyll, male solarbeam ▫ air slash synthesis ▫ whirlwind | HISTORY ▫ sapphire led the nomadic life. food was always scarce and there was never a place that she could truly call home. they moved once their old home started to retreat into desert. they never stayed more than half a year at any particular place, and she grew to fit into the different environments that could still be used. ▫ her father was a researcher that was looking into the changes in akiro's climate for years on end. he was radical in his theories, and forewarned of a need to control the nomadic lifestyles of the akirans, lest the environment degraded further. most of his words fell to deaf ears. he actively called for peaceful negotiations and non-violent campaigning, but that lead to nowhere. ▫ his assassination when sapphire was fourteen led her to take up arms to fight. she joined the rebel forces that forcefully opposed the government and has been fighting for their cause ever since. sapphire learnt that hard way that peaceful means would not save them. she would not be enslaved to this government, so she fought back. ▫ her marriage at twelve was to a young like minded radical like her, and he was the one who roped her into the grand scheme of things. she started from the lowest positions as a foot soldier, but moved up fast along the ladder. three years into the job, her husband was killed in a raid, and all she ever got was whatever they could salvage. she carries a small bottle of his ashes in her pack wherever she goes. ▫ she gained notice as she rose up the ranks, and is now a corporal amongst the rebel forces. years of fighting and warring have desensitized her towards the emotions of hatred, and she remains passionate to her cause, but has also lost basic emotions such as sadness and grief. she understands her role as a pawn, but that doesn't mean she won't fight for her cause. |

▫ she is very much used to the life of travelling. rono helps to cart along supplies and heavy things, while pilo helps when they need to travel by air. her pokemon, like her, are brutish and forceful in fights, and she wastes no time in trying to dawdle and stall with status attacks. her modus operandi is to hit hard and fast. if her pokemon are out of commission, she'll enter the fray with her bare hands. her canines are more prominent than most people, and she isn't afraid to rip things apart.
▫ she won't deny the fact that she does feel some sort of grief towards her dead husband. sapphire doesn't like talking about it, or at least, avoids the topic at all costs. she fears remarriage because of the possibility that she might lose another. remarriage is often frowned upon anyway.
▫ on the normal front of things she pretends to be a legal pokemon battler - the license she inherited from her father - and makes most of her legal tender from battles. the rest of her keep is spoils from their raids. the black market lives for supplies that she hoards from illyis lands.
▫ speaking of illyis, she hates them too, as does she loathe the other provinces. she's a bit of a racist against anyone that isn't akiran. she maintains that there is a certain weathered look upon akirans that separates them from others, and she does have slight genocidal tendencies forming. ultimately, this may grow and manifest itself into a desire to destroy the world for a better akiro world.
▫ sapphire is for the most of it, uneducated. her father couldn't afford to give her formal education, but his extensive research helped her develop her understanding of her world. she can read for the most of it but cannot write, but she feels that strategy does not necessarily need to be depicted and can be conveyed by words. she is not particularly eloquent, even a little crass and uncouth, but her sense of direction is directed by her moral compass.
