ARTHUR 'ART' FINCH
I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus

PERSONALITY Honest: Arthur always says what he means. This means that not only can you trust him to say what he thinks, but also that you can expect him to follow his promises when he makes them. He won't beat around the bush, he won't try to make excuses and he won't go back on his word; he's honest in that sense. Loyal: If there's one thing his upbringing has instilled in him, it's a strong sense of loyalty and duty. He sticks with his friends and family through thick and thin- often sticking out his neck for them if they need any help. Chivalrous: Despite his less than pleasant personality sometimes Arthur absolutely hates having to fight a member of the fairer sex. He goes out of his way to avoid physical confrontations, bearing insults that would have other people kissing his fist. Even when forced to fight the opposite gender he goes for ways to trap or incapacitate his opponent- minimizing any harm. He'll go out of his way to help a woman who he feels is in genuine danger. Tenacious: Once he's decided to do something you can bet Arthur will see it through to the end, and then some. It is virtually impossible to force him to give up, no matter how tough the circumstances may get. Hard-working: As an Akiran Arthur is well used to working hard to get what he wants. Whether it's raising Pokemon or simply an odd job to earn money- he isn't afraid of putting in blood, sweat and tears to get what he wants. Stubborn: Arthur's stubbornness is legendary among his tribe members. Once he gets his mind set on something, no matter how unreasonable it may be or how many people may try to discourage him, he will keep on going until he gets it. His mother used to say that he could but heads with his Lairon and come back for more; it wasn't a compliment. Short-tempered: He's pretty easy to provoke actually, having a short fuse and a healthy ego means that sometimes the smallest comment can set him off. Although he's gotten better at separating the unintended insults from the intended ones slighting him is still a one way ticket to any introduction to Arthur's fist. Violent: Violence is the answer to everything for Arthur. As of such when confronted with a problem he's likely to force his way through using -you guessed it- violence. Provoking him -quite easily done, all things considered- is likely to get a fist in the face or an angry Pokemon after you rather than a witty comeback. He doesn't start fights, but he sure doesn't shy away from them either. Blunt: Honesty is not a licence for rudeness- but somebody forgot to give Arthur the memo. Whatever may happen he's always going to give you his blunt, harsh comments/criticism no matter if it may hurt somebody's sentiments. Sadistic: Disproportionate revenge is Arthur's method of work and sometimes it seems that he takes deliberate pleasure in tormenting any unfortunate soul that's gotten on his bad side. He'll first punish you for any slight and then give you the 300% interest. All with a slasher smile on his face of course. Once you put in his short-temper and violent tendencies this becomes a deadly combination. | [DIS]LIKES (+)seafood (+)baby pokemon (+)high speeds (+)pokemon battles (+)hand to hand fights (-)authority figures (-)politics (-)cowards (-)canned food (-)boredom |
POKEMON sonic, sand veil, male dragon rage ● dual chop slash ● dragon rush ironhide, rock head, male double edge ● heavy slam iron tail ● iron head | HISTORY (*)Arthur was born to the leader of one of the larger and more active tribes in the Akiro region. Their 'activity' mainly consisted of continuous and organized raids into their neighboring province; Illyis. For them it was just as much as revenge as it was a highly lucrative business. (*)This was how Arthur grew up; witnessing and taking part of these violent raids since he was a young child- probably the reason for his less than docile personality. (*)Everything was fine for a while; Arthur was a good fighter both with and without his Pokemon and he enjoyed taking part in the family business. (*)The first sign of something wrong was when Arthur turned sixteen and realized that despite going against culture and tradition, nobody had forced him to marry- yet. It turned out that since Arthur was a son of the leader of one of the most active raiders, his marriage was to be one of political convenience rather than just following tradition. (*)He was to be married to a daughter of the leader of another, smaller tribe that had better connections and influence in the Illyis province. It was to be the start of an alliance leading to more profit in their trade. (*)But Arthur's bride-to-be had other plans rather than to be married into a family of 'barbarians' and so she decided to run away. Only for her groom-to-be to catch her red-handed. Running away was hardly unexpected when it came to arranged marriage and Arthur had been told by his father to keep an eye on his fiance to be on the safe side. (*)However, Arthur was not the sort of person to force a woman into something she didn't want; he told her how to cover her tracks better, gave her a few tips on how to survive and sent her on her way. (*)The head of neither family was amused when they found out that one half of their alliance had run away. As of such it was seen as negligence on Arthur's part to allow this to happen and he was sent to find her. He was told to either bring her back or not to come back at all. (*)It's been a month since he set out to find his fiance and so far he's had no luck. At the same time he's struggling between his sense of chivalry and his duty to his own tribe while maturing (somewhat) as a person too. |
EXTRAS
(*)Arthur's more or less literate, being able to do the basics; read, write and simple mathematics.
(*)His Gabite and Lairon have been in his possession for six and three years respectively. They get along with their trainer and each other pretty well.
(*)Strangely enough he has a soft spot for baby Pokemon. He dislikes seeing them in battles or in human possession at all, saying that it's cruel to use them like that.
